Simon Keyser-Petty

Simon Keyser-Petty has been involved in music his entire life. A Sacramento native, he was introduced to music by a father in the Sacramento opera, and a mother who had her very own radio show in her youth. From an early age, he began learning violin, progressing quite quickly before he branched out to learn a variety of different instruments including drums, guitar, accordion, banjo, and piano. He also sings!  An avid advocate for the integration of music in a developing child’s life, he has been a senior counselor at Sierra Mountain Music Camp. Here he learned many teaching methods being the leader and role model for a cabin full of boisterous, eager campers! He has been in a number of bands, which span styles from traditional jazz, to indie rock. Well-learned through private lessons, with a young heart, but a mature mind, he gets along with kids well, and makes it easy and enjoyable for them to have a better understanding for music, and thusly life!
