Earth and Clay Sculpture (3 and up)

Get ready to play in the mud as we explore and create with sculptural adobe and clay. Sculptural adobe is a natural mixture of clay-rich earth, sand and straw. Sculptural adobe is great because it can be shaped like clay, sculpted over most surfaces without cracking and dries hard as a rock. This makes sculptural adobe a great material to transform recycled bottles, jars and containers into fun and whimsical sculpture. Innately grounding, making art with earth and clay is beneficial to child development, helping with eye hand coordination, sense of touch and spatial cognition. Since claywork is tactile, it is also known to help children with sensory integration issues.
