The Colors of Art

We wear color, we are drawn to certain colors that make us happy and we all have a favorite color. Children especially love to be around colorful things. In this class students will learn about the color wheel, where colors fit in the spectrum and learn to blend primary colors to make secondary colors.  With this knowledge students will learn about warm and cool colors, how color affects mood and how to create works of art using all variations of color. Projects include "The Beauty of Fish", "Water Colored Coffee Filter flowers", "Pattern around the world" and other fun and creative ways to bring color into their world. Students will use many mediums including tempera paint, watercolor paint, colored pencil, crayon and pastels.
